Right or left lateral movement refers to the right or left from your perspective, not the opponent’s side. It’s easier to understand if you think of it as the character’s right or left hand.
For 1P (LEFT), the front moves right and the back moves left, and for 2P (RIGHT), the front moves left and the back moves right.
